Young forward Ryan McLeod, along with a few others around the league, filed for arbitration.
In the tweet below, it seems as if the Oilers want to work out a new deal with McLeod before we actually get to the arbitration process on July 20th. Many teams also have the same idea with their select players.
Ryan McLeod is a 23-year-old center. He can be a good third-line center and has a lot of speed. McLeod had 11 goals and 12 assists, tallying up to 23 points in 57 games. In the playoffs, Ryan had 5 points (all assists), in 12 games.
Ryan was making $925,000 last season, so he'll be looking for a raise. Judging by that and the fact that Edmonton only has $5 million left in cap space and Evan Bouchard still needing a contract, factoring in his point production, he is expected to earn $1.5-2 million.
