It's a bad day for the New Jersey Devils assistant coach Andrew Brunette. After the news he was arrested earlier today in Broward County Florida, he was charged with driving under the influence, as well as disobey of a stop or yield sign.
Brunette was arrested and booked in Deerfield Beach then was released on a $5,000 bond. Brunette left the Florida Panthers this summer after being swept by the Tampa Bay Lightning, joining the New Jersey Devils as an assistant coach. Brunette was on break due to the All-Star weekend and decided to party like a rock star and now is facing the music.
Brunette, 49, first joined the Panthers as one of Joel Quenneville's assistant coaches and ended up replacing Quenneville as the team's coach last October when Quenneville was forced to resign.
The Devils are currently on break due to the All-Star Game which is being held in Broward County, the team has yet to comment on this situation but if I had to guess I don't think Brunette will be employed by the Devils much longer.
