As the Florida Panthers face a critical Game 5 in the Stanley Cup Final, the status of star winger Matthew Tkachuk remains uncertain.

Panthers head coach Paul Maurice provided no update on Tkachuk's availability after he missed practice following their Game 4 loss.

No update on Matthew Tkachuk from Paul Maurice. He knows whether he's playing or not but won't divulge. He says if he plays «there would be no limit at the start of the game.»

Going to be real interesting if he plays tonight because it's clear he's got a serious injury.

Tkachuk's potential absence adds to the team's challenges, with forward Eetu Luostarinen already sidelined. In the event that Tkachuk cannot play, either Givani Smith or Grigori Denisenko could fill the lineup.

Tkachuk has not been the same since this hit:

Smith has minimal playoff experience, while Denisenko would be making his playoff debut. The Panthers will need to adapt swiftly as they strive to keep their championship hopes alive.
