He also has a few players on his defence core that he could look at replacing and upgrading. One such player would be defenseman Cody Ceci. Ceci, according to capfriendly.com, holds a two-year cap hit of $3.25 million.
His regular season this year was less than stellar as he played 80 games, scored one goal with 14 assists for 15 points was a + 11. He played twelve games in the playoffs and only had one assist and was a - 5. For $3.25 million Holland can find someone else to replace him and produce more or give him better playoff numbers.
One replacement is Andrew Peeke of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Being a right-shot defenseman and holding a three-year deal remaining at 2.75 million per year certainly would pique Ken Holland's interest. Besides the fact he was on a poor defensive team, he played 80 games and scored six goals, with seven assists for 13 points and held 22 penalty minutes.
Time will tell to see what Holland's plans will be and they will begin at the NHL draft in Nashville.
