According to Paul Bissonnette's account of the situation, Babcock allegedly called team captain Boone Jenner into his office shortly after assuming his coaching role and requested to see the photos on Jenner's personal cell phone.
In response, the Blue Jackets swiftly issued statements from both Babcock and Jenner. They acknowledged the sharing of photos but sought to minimize the significance of the act, instead placing blame on Bissonnette for what they termed "irresponsible and completely inaccurate" allegations.
To its credit, the NHLPA has not accepted either statement at face value. Katie Strang of The Athletic reported that they are actively reviewing the allegations concerning Babcock and players' personal devices and photos. The NHL has also confirmed that it will continue to gather information on the matter.
Adding his perspective to the discussion, former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Frankie Corrado, who played under Babcock, shared his insights during an appearance on the First Up radio show. Corrado, now an analyst for TSN, brings a unique perspective to the ongoing debate surrounding the controversy.
