Canadian teams, more so the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs, have picked up the steam ahead of the NHL's March 3rd trade deadline that is just two days away. At 3:00PM Eastern Standard time on Saturday, trades will no longer be able to be made and teams rosters will pretty much be locked in for the entirety of the 2022-23 season, as well as the playoffs.

Tonight, the two most improved Canadian teams are set to face off, and the Edmonton Oilers newest defensemen Mattias Ekholm has officially landed in Edmonton and will make tonights game.

The Leafs have added Ryan O'Reilly, Luke Schenn, Erik Gustafsson and a few other known faces, who'll all be put to the test against the best offence in the entire NHL, the Edmonton Oilers.

Sadly, Evander Kane still remains out of the Oilers lineup, per Jay Woodcroft. Kane has been absent from the six games, and tonight will be his seventh.

Per Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft, Evander Kane won't play vs. TOR tonight. New Oiler Mattias Ekholm will be paired with Evan Bouchard. No word on if Jack Campbell gets the net against his former team.

Check out this sweet graphic on what Ekholm looks like in an Edmonton Oilers jersey, pretty sweet.
