The NHL has seen its share of grisly injuries regarding players coming in contact with the blades of skates. It appears tonight that this happened again when Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand sustained a cut along his leg as he was trying to pass by Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse.

As the play was leaving the Oilers' end, Marchand was trying to skate by Nurse whenever the blade caught the left side of his leg. The Bruins star forward left the game and has not returned.

In recent weeks, Marchand has been in the spotlight with the Oilers as he was trolling their page with regards to NHL players not taking discounts to play there.

Aside from these comments, no one wants to see any players sustain an injury, especially with a skate blade as Evander Kane can attest to. Kane sustained a serious wrist injury with a skate blade earlier this season and has returned since then after having surgery to repair the damage.

We all wish the best for Mr. Marchand and hope for a quick turnaround.

**UPDATE**

Marchand has returned to the game, thankfully he is okay.
