Bruce Boudreau Cancels Interview After Emotional Breakdown
The firing of Bruce Boudreau is coming and it's the worst-kept secret in the NHL now. It's so bad that his replacement has already been brought up numerous times in former NHLer Rick Tocchet with even contract talks in the works.
Ryan Whitney explained his thoughts on this coming debacle and felt that Bruce Boudreau's situation has been completely mishandled and is a disgrace to the NHL and the Canucks organization.
I agree with Mr. Whitney and all who think this is not how you handle dismissing a coach or any executive. Mr. Boudreau faced a tough situation when he arrived in Vancouver after they fired Travis Green. The Canucks season has been dismal and downright awful and with no signs of improvement, we will look at a major retool or even gutting of this current roster.
I think the Canucks management should take a hard look at this and themselves once the decision is made and evaluate their firing and HR policies. There is no reason to embarrass or humiliate this coach who has a 40-30-12 record since the start of his time with the Canucks.
Do what's right and let Mr. Boudreau leave with a little dignity.
