The Oilers new players Jake Walman and Max Jones joined Hockey Night in Canada's After Hours, and spoke on their trade to Edmonton.
The trade for Jake Walman was the Oilers biggest move of the deadline, adding a much needed two way top four defenceman to the group.

Walman's also known for breaking out some more ambitious goal celebrations than is usual for NHL players. In his time with Detroit, Walman used to break out the Griddy dance as a celebration, but he doesn't think it'll come with him to Edmonton.

Overall, Walman is thrilled to be joining a team with Stanley Cup aspirations after playing with the rebuilding Sharks all year.
Walman impressed greatly in his debut with the Oilers last night, showing off his offensive play, defensive success, and even some unexpected physical play. Walman stepped up to deliver a thunderous hit on Mikko Rantanen, a welcome sign to any Oilers fan.
No one expected the Oilers to make a deal for Jake Walman, and it seems they acquired a better player than was widely known. The absolute dream is that Walman will have an Ekholm-like effect on the Oilers.
For now, Walman's debut with the team gave Oilers fans major reasons to be excited by the addition.
