Bruins Broadcaster Accused of Being 'High as Hell' on LIVE Broadcast
Jack Edwards, the play-by-play announcer for the Boston Bruins, has always been a divisive figure in the NHL. While he is beloved by many Bruins fans for his passion and loyalty, others criticize him for being excessively biased in his commentary.
During a game between the Bruins and the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, Edwards sparked a different type of controversy. He expressed disbelief that Hurricanes forward Jordan Martinook was not penalized, despite video replays showing no cause for a penalty had occurred. Adding to the oddness of the situation, Edwards could be seen laughing maniacally and even clapping during the replay.
As a result, many hockey-related social media accounts accused Edwards of being intoxicated, leading to a wider debate about his suitability as the voice of the Bruins. While his commentary is appreciated by some, others believe his behavior is unprofessional and detracts from the game.
Spittin Chiclets suggested Edwards should "have another bong toke."
Where someone else stated he was 'high as hell':
It didn't stop there, this one below is quite bad:
There is no factual evidence that Edwards was intoxicated in any way, it is still a funny joke regardless.
