Over the last all star weekend, the incredible announcement was made that instead of the all-star game next year, the NHL will instead hold a international tournament of four team composed entirely of NHL players - with the countries being Canada, the USA, Finland, and Sweden. The tournament will be called the Four Nations Faceoff.

There's more than a few hockey nations being omitted from the tournament, because they can't fill an entire roster of NHL players. One of those countries is Czechia, which has got David Pastrnak upset enough to say he's boycotting the tournament.

"It's a huge disappointment. Definitely not happy about it," Pastrnak said. "I understand that it's a quick turnaround. It's next year. They probably didn't have much time to make it a bigger tournament."

Like many other NHL players, Pastrnak's clearly upset about losing out on so many opportunities to represent his country, and now his country will be excluded from the first NHL international tournament in some time.

Pastrnak will be forced to wait until the following year, 2026, when the NHL has vowed now to return to the Olympics in Milan, Italy. Pastrnak will be 30 years old, and finally be able to play with Czechia in a best on best tournament.
