Sometimes people forget that the players who play for the National Hockey League are human beings that also have interests and hobbies outside of their careers. Mental health has been popular in recent years that is finally recognized just as important as your physical health.
Connor Hellebuyck the goaltender from Winnipeg Jets has just co-authored a children's book for Manitoba and it focuses on children's mental.
This is a key element to realizing that mental health is an important factor to all, children and even hockey players. Hockey has always been based around masculinity and fighting through all mental and physical barriers but this book shows how much views are changing.
Hellebuyck is the best NHL goaltender but has also been truthful and open. Things like this prove that it isn't all about hockey and we're moving past the stereotypes. This change might be something new but will forever continue to grow.
