Coach goes ballistic towards young referee in Alberta
It's clear, that verbal abuse which is lashed out towards young players or employees in the game of hockey has no place in the game. This terrible behavior was on full display in Cochrane AB during a U13 AA hockey game.
The young referee remained calm and professional as the expletives were thrown at their by the head coach and were getting worse as the exchange went on. You can also hear the jeering in the crowd as people began to talk about what they just heard.
It's uncertain whether Hockey Alberta will deal with this situation as this league would fall under their purview. They will also be interesting on how they handle this and whether they will face suspension or fines for this kind of behavior.
It's safe to say that parents will not be pleased with what they witnessed.
