In the 2022-2023 regular season, the Edmonton Oilers finished with a record of 50-23-9, before being knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

There is no doubt that Ken Holland and the Oilers view themselves as contenders, and will endeavor to keep the team in that window through acquisitions to allow them to remain the best version of themselves that they can be.

The oilers mentality next season, they're hungry..

As far as Connor McDavid, the captain of the Edmonton Oilers, is concerned, this season is very different from the previous ones.

As he perceives it, the expectations for this team of Edmonton Oilers are cup or bust, and the group assembled is geared towards that.

I believe that there is no argument that the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific division are their Achilles' heel at the moment.

In the event that they can surpass the Bruce Cassidy-led Golden Knights, they may be able to win the Stanley Cup.

After a pair of playoff appearances that resulted in at least one series win each year, the Edmonton Oilers are entering a pivotal year.
