The offseason plans of the Edmonton Oilers are becoming into full swing within the next few weeks once the NHL playoffs come to an end and the Stanley Cup winner.

The Oilers organization has several major decisions to complete as they face a cap space issue with seven restricted and unrestricted free agents on the horizon.

Daniel Nugent Bowman has revealed a few of the plans that the Oilers we'll be looking at this offseason to help bolster the lineup and ice a team for next year.

Out of the plans he mentions, I feel the Oilers will reach out to Evan Bouchard and try to reach a deal. He has had a great year and will remain a staple on the Edmonton Oilers blue line. It's hard to gauge what kind of a contract he can get but I do believe the bridge contract idea would be helpful for the Oilers.

He also mentions that the Oilers may look at Jonathan Toews, the former beloved captain of the Chicago Blackhawks who is now an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

At 1.15 million seems a low number for such a great player who still has some game left in him. I feel that he may not want to sign for that low amount of money it's also possible he may retire from the game as a Black Hawk.

Finally, its been stated that Holland will try to re-sign Oilers forward Klim Kostin as he became a fan favourite and a great workhorse of a player that will give the Oilers more depth they need.

At the age of 24, at 6' 3", 215 pounds this centre played 51 games, scored eleven goals with 10 assists for 21 points and was a + 12 certainly solid numbers for the bottom six.

It'll be a fascinating time for the Oilers to navigate this offseason.
