Edmonton Oilers defenseman Cody Ceci has temporarily left the team for a good reason. Ceci's wife, Jamie Ceci, is giving birth to their child, and understandably, Ceci wanted to be there for the momentous occasion. As a result, the Oilers have recalled defenseman Jason Demers to take Ceci's spot in the lineup for their upcoming game against the San Jose Sharks on April 8th.

Demers, who has played 699 NHL games, will have a special opportunity to play his 700th game against his former team, the Sharks. This could be a fitting way to end his career, and he will undoubtedly bring his best to the ice in this momentous game.

Meanwhile, forward Ryan McLeod has been placed on long-term injured reserve, but there is a possibility that he could return to the lineup soon. The Oilers will have to wait and see how his recovery progresses before making any decisions about his return.
