Throughout any NHL season, Head coaches of their respective teams are willing to gamble on ideas and hunches to win a hockey game. Whether it's to pull the goalie 2 1/2 to 3 minutes before the game ends or make a very questionable line change to gain an advantage against the opposition, coaches have the right to do it.
Tonight, one such move was quite bold and proven effective when head coach Jay Woodcroft decided to scratch fan-favourite forward Klim Kostin's hand-inserted hardly-used forward Devin shore.
The Oilers were facing the best team in the league, Boston Bruins, and this game was highly touted as one of the best games to be played in a long time.
This move was not in favour for most fans of cost and it's played extremely well since becoming an Oiler when he came over from the St Louis Blues. Many fans weighed their thoughts on Twitter and express their displeasure and dislike of this move.
The move ended up paying off as the Oilers beat the Bruins three to two on the road. The Bruins have been one of the most formidable teams in many years him have built an impressive 49-9-5 record.
It's also interesting to note that Janmark and Shore both had an assist in the game.
