Edmonton Oilers Forwards Promotion Pays Off and Fans Are More Than Happy
Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft made some bold lineup changes before last night's Game 5 against the LA Kings, and it paid off in a big way. With their season on the line, Woodcroft moved 6-foot-7 centerman Nick Bjugstad up to the Oilers' second line, and it proved to be a smart move.
Bjugstad came through with a deflection goal that gave the Oilers the lead in the game, and the team never looked back. Fans are happy with this decision, as it added some much-needed size and physicality to the Oilers' forward group.
This is a great example of a coach making strategic changes to improve the team's chances of success in a must-win game. With the series now being led by the Oilers 3-2, every move counts, and the Oilers will need to continue making smart decisions like this if they want to come out on top.
