As the Edmonton Oilers gear up for the upcoming season, Evander Kane is on a mission to reclaim his spot in the top six and regain his gritty and productive forward presence. Kane's tenure with the Oilers kicked off with a strong first season, amassing 22 goals and 39 points in just 43 games.

Challenges Faced

However, the following season was marred by an injury from a skate cut inflicted by Pat Maroon, sidelining him for half the season. After undergoing a significant wrist procedure and a 10-week absence, Kane rejoined the Oilers' practice group, demonstrating his determination to return.

During his comeback, Kane managed four goals and six points in nine games, though he participated in only 41 regular season games.

Kane reveals challenges he faces

«There's still some numbness and all, but I have full mobility. I feel good on the ice,» Kane said. «I feel that I'm able to perform the way I need to perform when it comes to that and some other issues that I dealt with after I came back from the wrist injury, which wasn't great at the time»

Continuing Progress

Kane's strong personality prevents him from attributing his production dip solely to the injury, yet he admitted that he has not yet fully regained his baseline wrist function.

With his health improving and a determined spirit, Kane's comeback story intrigues fans and the organization, setting the stage for an impactful season.
