As part of the Seattle Kraken's preseason win over the Calgary Flames, Kailer Yamamoto scored twice. You'd think it'd buy a ticket to the regular season correct?

Perhaps it did not, as the forward who has struggled to find a home in the NHL is also out of the Kraken lineup for the season.

Group 1 practice lineup, 9/27:

McCann-Beniers-Eberle
Schwartz-Wennberg-Burakovsky
Tolvanen-Gourde-Bjorkstrand
Tanev-Bellemare-Kartye
Shore-Wright-Yamamoto

Dunn-Larsson
Oleksiak-Borgen
Dumoulin-Schultz
Megna-Evans

Grubauer
Daccord

Does Yamamato's career in the league appear to be over? It has not been easy for Yamamoto to live up to expectations since being drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, in the 2017 NHL draft.

Consequently, Yamamato and Klim Kostin would be traded to the Detroit Red Wings so that the Wings could buy out Yamamato's contract, and the Kraken would quickly acquire the forward for $1.5 million at signing.

Assuming Yamamoto finishes his NHL career in Seattle, he will have played 244 games, scored 50 goals, and provided 68 assists for 118 points.

A disappointing end, if this is to be it for sure.
