As all hockey fans know, when a player scores three goals in a game the fan base will throw their hats to the ice to recognize and appreciate the hat trick. Some fans waved towels as part of their cheering or wear all white like the old Winnipeg Jets used to do called it a whiteout.
But during the Stanley Cup finals, the Panthers won Game 3 and began to litter the ice with plastic rats. This was a tradition they began right when they started in 1995.
It seems now that the Vegas Golden Knights are doing something similar, with their fan base beginning to throw pink flamingos on the ice after they beat the Panthers seven to two in Game 2.
To each their own, I say. Both the Golden Knights and Panthers have appeared in the finals twice, losing their respective series the last time.
Game four will be held on Saturday night June 10th. Game time will be at 8:00 PM Eastern.
