It was a nail-biter for sure but Team Canada's Dylan Guenther scored the "Golden Goal" for Team Canada at the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championships in Halifax.

Dylan Guenther would score Canada's opening goal giving Canada a 1-0 lead.

Canada would take a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period off a nice goal from captain Shane Wright on his birthday.

Canada would try to sit back in the 3rd period and Czechia would make them pay, first Jiri Kulich would score giving Czechia life.

Czechia would stun Canada and silence the crowd when
Jakub Kos would score just 54 seconds later, tying the game 2-2 late in the 3rd period.

Czechia would almost win it in the dying seconds but Team Canada's goaltender Thomas Milic shuts the door some how to force overtime.

In overtime, Canada wouldn't be denied, Montreal Canadiens prospect Joshua Roy would set up Dylan Guenther for his 2nd goal of the game and tournament winner for Canada.

Canada wins back to back gold medals since Canada last won back in 2008-2009.
