Many fans of the Edmonton Oilers loved Klim Kostin for his entertaining and unique interviews. Despite having a distinct personality, Kostin and his agent have been accused of using unfair tactics against Holland.

Holland blames the KHL for preventing him from signing Kostin, as he was expected to exceed the salary cap.

Holland says he was negotiating against the KHL on Kostin.

, Klim Kostin was close to signing with Avangard Omsk of the KHL prior to this morning's trade.

To address the issue of creating more cap space for bottom-six forwards, Kostin was traded to the Detroit Red Wings along with Kailer Yamamoto.

This trade came as a surprise to many, as it was unexpected that either player would fit into the Yzerplan.

However, Detroit has ample funds available to sign Kostin if he decides to continue playing in the NHL.

Until then, it sounds like Holland was in a rock and hard place with Kostin, as prior to the trade to Detroit, Kostin was due to land in Russia with the KHL's Avangard Omsk.
