It's been a crazy year for Seattle Kraken's prospect Shane Wright. After being the consensus pick for more then a year for last season's NHL Draft, Wright would fall down to 4th overall and drafted by the Seattle Kraken.
Wright was obviously disappointed and vowed to make the other Team's regret not taking him 1st overall, especially the Montreal Canadiens. Unfortunately for Wright he hasn't had too much success in his rookie season in Seattle, to the point where some fans are already calling him a bust.
Seattle decided to let Wright go play for team Canada at the World Junior's. That was the ''Wright'' decision by Seattle because he had a very solid tournament as captain of Team Canada, winning the gold medal over Czechia.
The Kraken have decided to further let Wright develop by sending him back to the juniors with the Kingston Frontenacs. However, this is huge news as the Frontenacs are no where near being an OHL contender so they are going to deal Wright for a chance to play for a Memorial Cup.
Two of the big teams interested in Wright are the Barrie Colts and the red hot London Knights.
London is looking to bring another championship to the city, adding Shane Wright to their roster would benefit both the Knights and Wright, the Knights would be the team to beat in the Ontario Hockey League, and for Wright the experience he would get playing in London under Dale Hunter would help him big time. Not to mention London is basically a NHL player making factory so If I was Seattle I'd be hoping he ends up a Knight by the end of the OHL trade deadline.
