It's well known that many NHL players throughout the league have different hobbies other than playing the sport they love for eight to nine months of the year. It could be a gruelling and tough time for any player as they have to keep their bodies in mint condition while maintaining their focus find winning games and trying to take the Stanley Cup.
Some players like Wayne Simmonds of the Toronto Maple Leafs likes to play poker as a side hobby and enter many tournaments. Other players like to explore the world, stay home with their families and enjoy some family time and vacation.
It appears that Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has decided to take up a hobby that could classify as dangerous, especially with his career in mind. It's also a thrill-seeking hobby which happens to be rock climbing.
Judging by the photo, it appears that he is taking all the necessary precautions to keep himself safe and to protect himself, others and his career.
At 26 years old and in the prime of his life, he certainly needs to enjoy the finer things that make him happy.
It'll only be a couple of short months before he has to return to the gym regularly and get ready for the new season that will begin in October.
