It's official: Gary Bettman and the NHL have made a major announcement regarding Milan Lucic
Taking into account the situation regarding Milan Lucic and his recent arrest, the NHL has taken steps to mitigate the risks.
Earlier today, the NHL announced that Milan Lucic would be participating in the NHL's player assistance program.
As a result of his not-guilty plea today, the Bruins winger on indefinite leave has been released from prison.
As a result, Lucic's trial has been set for January 19th, 2024.
During this time, he must refrain from drinking alcohol and harming his wife.
Milan Lucic will be entering the NHL/NHLPA Player assistance program while he remains in indefinite leave from Bruins
In the event that he is found guilty of all charges, he could serve two years in prison.
In the meantime, the NHL has stepped in and tried to help the veteran winger with the assistance program to get his life in order.
