Jay Woodcroft Gets Brutally Snubbed of The NHL's Jack Adams Trophy
Jay Woodcroft, the Edmonton Oilers' head coach, has received recognition from NHL broadcasters for his impressive season. But he sadly ended up finishing seventh in the Jack Adams Award voting, Woodcroft's name stood among the league's top coaches.
Although Jim Montgomery secured the trophy with an overwhelming 79 first-place votes, Woodcroft garnered support from voters, earning second and third-place positions from a handful of them.
Since his promotion in 2021-22, Woodcroft has proven himself as one of the NHL's finest coaches. The Oilers' record of 76-32-12 since then ties them with the Carolina Hurricanes for the second-best point-earning rate in the league.
With 14 playoff wins in two seasons, Woodcroft's future Jack Adams win seems imminent.
