Unfortunately, the Edmonton Oilers didn't win the Stanley Cup this year, being eliminated in the second round by the Champions Vegas Golden Knights. However, there was a bright spot.
Leon Draisaitl tied for the most goals in the 2023 playoffs (13), despite playing just 12 games. His 1.08 goals/game are tied for the 2nd-most in a postseason all-time (min 12 GP):
Leon Draisaitl tied Brett Hull for 1.08 goals per game in the playoffs (2nd place on all-time list) meanwhile falling 0.11 short of Reggie Leach's record he set back in 1970.
Draisaitl had 13 goals and 5 assists, adding up to 18 points in 12 games this playoff. If the Oilers were to win the Cup, there is no doubt that he would've won the Conn Smythe. During the regular season he was just as good, tallying 128 points in 80 games and was a Hart Trophy candidate.
Draisaitl is so good, and let's hope Holland keeps him when his contract is up in two years.
