McDavid Shuts Down Trade Speculation to The Maple Leafs During Interview
The Edmonton Oilers re-tool has continued with Ken Holland adding bottom six depth recently and the Oilers are one of the hottest NHL teams, recently beating the Boston Bruins at home.
But some people think Connor McDavid is unhappy and wants out, but is that necessarily true?
McDavid grew up a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Many in the NHL rumor mill believe McDavid is done with the Oilers and leave for Toronto, as soon as possible.
But, with news of his family leaving Toronto and his friends in the area leaving to go abroad, does this really hold weight? Doubtful.
The Oilers are highly competitive right now, 5-3-2 in their last ten and posting a .679 winning percentage in 2023. That bubble looks to be popped and with a weaker Pacific Division this season, the Oilers are still in it.
McDavid will be a UFA at the end of the season and it's reasonable to believe Holland has stuck his neck out to keep his All-Star center here in Edmonton.
