Milan Lucic may be headed back to Canada
An accomplished hockey player, Milan Lucic has had a successful off-season, winning a gold medal in the World Hockey Championship.
As a free agent on July 1st, he has already expressed his interest in joining the NHL once again.
Sources indicate the Flames have given UFA Milan Lucic's agent Gerry Johansson permission to talk with a few teams, Lucic will be hitting the free agent market on July 1st.
I believe the Canucks have internally talked about Lucic.
The Calgary Flames have given Lucic and his agent, Gerry Johansson, the green light to explore possible options with other teams.
Interestingly, Lucic is keen on returning to his hometown of Vancouver, where he previously won a Stanley Cup.
There seems to be mutual interest between Lucic and the Canucks, especially with the recent cap space made available after the OEL buyout.
However, it remains to be seen where Lucic will fit in the Canucks' new squad. Stay tuned for updates.
