The NHL and the savvy Commissioner Gary Bettman are always trying to find new ways to bring in revenue regardless what fans think about the idea, whether it is good or not.
One of the newest gimmicks Bettman has introduced is the new digital boards better known as "DED Boards." So far fans haven't taken to well to them. And unlike basketball, the object being shot and passed around is easy for your eyes to lose track of as fans have stated the boards are very distracting.
The NHL also didn't take into account that there is fans with medical problems as some fans have actually had seizures, reportedly due to the new boards including a young hockey fan in attendance during a recent NHL game.
Chief Business Officer Keith Wachtel would share a comment fans won't like as it looks like the boards are here to stay like it or not.
They will be used in every game, every night. This is the new norm." - Keith Wachtel
Sometimes it's obvious that these ads just aren't working like they should, like in these very choppy few seconds that make it basically impossible to follow the path of the shot on goal.
