There is an undeniable truth in the career of an NHL player, they hope to make the team they were drafted by, investing all their time to prove they are ready for the next step, only to find that the team cannot accommodate them.

Sometimes, this occurs when they are older, well into their 30s, and their careers are in the twilight. Other times, it happens just as they are getting started, and things don't work out.

This appears to be the case for Oilers forward prospect, Jeremias Lindewall. He was drafted in the 2020 NHL draft in the seventh round, 200th overall. The Oilers recently tweeted that Lindewall had signed a new contract with Kalmar in Sweden for one year.

After reviewing his stats and write-up on eliteprospects.com, it seems that he fits the mould of a bottom-six player for any NHL team. Lindewall has shown promise as a good penalty killer and is capable of producing modest offences.

It remains to be seen how he will perform in Sweden, but I guess that he will find more playing time and an opportunity to accelerate his development there.
