Stuart Skinner, the 24-year-old goaltender who was pegged to be the Oilers' backup, has been trusted into the starter position due to the poor play of Jack Campbell. Tonight the Oilers played the Minnesota Wild and many felt that Skinner deserved a better fate.
The Oilers lost 2-1 tonight, Skinner allowed two goals on 30 shots he had a .933 SV%. sadly he didn't get enough scoring support from the offense.
Jay Woodcroft has turned his trust to Skinner in hopes that he will right the ship and allow Jack Campbell to regroup and regain his confidence. This is not the first time this has happened to Mr. Campbell as he faced a similar problem in Toronto last year.
Time will tell if he can get it back together. The Oilers are back on the ice tonight as they continue their small road trip to Nashville. The game starts at 8:00 PM
