Oilers fans should pay attention to this prospect
Maximus Wanner, a prospect of the Edmonton Oilers, is currently playing for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL. He stands at 6'3" and weighs 190lbs.
On the ice, Wanner's long reach comes in handy for shutting down his opposition.
He has demonstrated his skills and tenacity against many top prospects in this draft, such as Zach Benson, by attacking the puck carrier and easily stopping plays.
Wanner's defensive skills are nothing short of spectacular.
He is always in position and forces his opponent to the outside while controlling the attacker's movements. He is not hesitant to finish his check and take control of the plays.
Although he is not known for being a great offensive-defenseman, he has impressive footwork, makes great strides, and skillfully handles the puck. In transition, he is a great passer and also delivers a great shot, making him a decent offensive threat.
Wanner is still developing, but as he turns pro, fans will want to check out his highlights to get a glimpse of what to expect from him.
