There's something to be said when either watching or being in an arena where all the fans participate in singing the national anthem. This sometimes can happen by accident whenever a microphone decides to dies, the singer is left with no choice but to try to coax the crowd in helping him or her finish the tune.
Other times, the singer will point to the crowd and they will all join in and sing a few sections of the song so they can finish off with a loud cheer.
Tonight during game four, the Oilers decided to throw a twist with their national anthem singer Robert Clark.
Having him stand with the crowd and blending in quite well allows the microphone to pick up people much better and give a more rounding
sound to the national anthem.
I've yet to experience standing in an NHL playoff hockey arena with everyone singing, but I'm sure it sends warm feelings with the crowd behind your back.
