Breaking news out of Saskatoon, the Saskatoon Blades have acquired the Edmonton Oilers prospect Jake Chaisson for three WHL draft picks.
The former Brandon Wheat Kings centerman was drafted by the oilers in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round, 116th overall. In his fourth season with the WHL, he amassed 28 points in 35 games. The two-way center stands at 6'2» and 188 pounds and is 19 years old.
With Chaisson moving on, the Wheat Kings do acquire a first and two second-rounders. That's a high return for one player.
This should be welcome news for the Oilers as they do have a great prospect within their ranks who should make an impact on their roster shortly. I expect he will be at camp for the next season to try to crack the lineup.
The next game for the Oilers will be on the road against the Anaheim Ducks. Game time starts at 10:00 PM
