There has been much speculation over the past month concerning Patrick Kane and where he will land before the March 3rd trade deadline.

Many NHL pundits have felt he would choose the New York Rangers as his next team to play. That idea has changed since the Rangers went out and picked up Vladimir Tarasenko from the St Louis Blues.

This means that the landscape is changed and it's wide open for Kane to choose his next suitor. Elliott Friedman of the 32 thoughts feels that the Edmonton Oilers have looked at the idea of picking up Kane but mentioned that he would not play on the power play 1, which would be an issue for Kane's liking as he's looking to find a new home and while getting the most minutes as possible.

I would think that the Oilers would consider putting him on the top power play as he is one of the best wingers in the business. This would also give the Oilers another layer of offence that they need for a prolonged playoff run.

But that said, it'll all come down to what Patrick Kane wants and where he wants to go. The 34-year-old right winger is in his final year with a $10.5 million cap hit. The Blackhawks would have to retain a large portion of that salary to make a trade work.
