Earlier today during the first matchups of the annual World Juniors Tournament, prospect Adam Jiricek, brother of David Jiricek, suffered what seemed to be and incredibly painful injury.

Jiricek had been returning to hockey from a previous knee injury, and it seems like he either aggravated it or wasn't fully healed up. On a simple looking play in the corner, Jiricek was knocked down and fell awkwardly on the opposing forward, and could immediately be heard screaming out in pain.

Jiricek went on to return in the third period to the surprise of many - but it could've been the wrong decision to play through the pain. Later in the third period, Jiricek left the game yet again with the knee injury.

It's a tough debut to the World Juniors tournament for the prospect. Hopefully for himself and his team, and also to establish his draft stock to the NHL - he can get healthy and return to the lineup soon.
