As the Bakersfield Condors' leading scorer, the 6'4" winger was selected by the Edmonton Oilers as the 38th overall pick in 2019, and he is already paying dividends, as this season he has put on more muscle mass and has scored 21 goals and 38 points in 43 games for the Condors.
It is expected that Lavoie will make an impact during training camp for the team since he just signed his qualifying offer and is excited about the prospect of betting on himself.
It was interesting to hear the young winger's comparison of the juniors to the AHL, where he mentioned the fact that he might be the only big player in the juniors that can carve out a spot with his size, whereas in the AHL you aren't the only big dog there.
Lavoie has dedicated his entire off-season to training and honing his skills for the upcoming training camp. He intends to arrive in Edmonton early to gain an edge over his competitors and continue his training regimen.
The winger has improved significantly since his first season in the AHL. During that season, he scored 13 goals and had 13 assists, resulting in 26 points in 56 games. Unfortunately, injuries affected his performance during that time. However, he appears to be highly focused on achieving his goals. He has also been spending his time off wake surfing and golfing.
