Stanley Cup Odds Favourite a Surprising Canadian Team, Opposing Fans Are Not Happy
Now with the trade deadline behind the NHL, organizations are trying to solidify their playoff runs and rosters so they can have a spot in the NHL playoffs. Also what happens is the playoff and Stanley Cup odds are usually released and updated regularly to let fans know if their teams have a chance.
It appears that money puck.com feels that the Edmonton Oilers have a good chance of doing some major damage in this year's playoff.
What's interesting about this wheel is that there seem to be weird numbers as it has the Oilers with better odds of winning the Stanley Cup than the Boston Bruins despite being 27 points back of the team. My guess is they would take into account the divisions each team is in and the odds of making it forward because of the way the playoff format is set up.
The Oilers have made a few moves at the deadline to help their cause, but it remains to be seen if they can get them past a few rounds even though they're pegged to do quite well according to this website.
With so many factors and so many possibilities, it's hard to peg what could happen. What looks highly likely though is that the Oilers will make it to the first round, afterwards all bets are off.
