Connor McDavid is Going Viral After Smashing a Wayne Gretzky Record - You Won't Believe it
The 2022-2023 season has been the greatest in Connor McDavid's career as a hockey player. Week in and week out, he continues to soar to new levels in points and break records. Recently he broke another record which happened to be held by Oilers legend Wayne Gretzky.
He just surpassed Gretzky in the most power-play points in franchise history that currently stands at 58. The 26-year-old superstar is putting points on the board faster than anyone in recent memory. He has played 64 games and scored 52 goals with 70 assists for 122 points.
He's shooting at 18.2% which is unheard of and has 18 power play goals on his own. With this blistering point total, he is certainly on pace for well over 150 points this season. His current total points as a player stand at 819 and he is a + 100. There's a strong chance that he will surpass 1000 points before he reaches the age of 27.
Now the question remains, can the Oilers sustain a long playoff push and playoff run with McDavid this season? With the recent changes made time will tell.
