It didn't look good for Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships semi final game vs Team USA. The Americans came out guns blazing and would take a early 2-0 lead.
However, like we've seen all tournament, there's no quit on this Canadian roster, that included this game as
Connor Bedard would get Canada on the board making it a 2-1 game.
Team USA thought that tied the game 3-3 however, Canada would challenge the Jason Blake's goal and it was indeed called back for goaltender interference keeping the score 3-2 Canada.
Canada would not let the US get any momentum after the disallowed goal, Montreal Canadiens prospect
Joshua Roy who's had a solid tournament would give Canada a 4-2 lead late in the 2nd period.
Team USA thought they got one back in the first minute of the 3rd period on a
Rutger McGroarty goal, But Canada would again challenge for goaltender interference and this one was clearly goaltender interference and waved off.
Team Canada would get some insurance when defensemen
Brandt Clarke would snipe one past the US goaltender to give Canada a 5-2 lead.
Team USA would get a powerplay late in the game and would pull their goaltender for the man advantage, when Joshua Roy would get his 2nd of the game with a short handed empty net goal to put this one on ice.
Team Canada will face Team Czechia in the gold medal game, Canada is looking for payback as Czechia handed Canada their only loss in this tournament 5-2 on boxing day.
