Team Germany Hockey will be absolutely stacked this year!

The German national hockey team is ranked 5th in the IIHF rankings and has never won a major international competition since the country's reunification.

Traditionally, the team has not been considered an elite squad compared to the likes of Sweden, the Czech Republic, Finland, Canada, the United States, or even Russia in the past.

2026 Team Germany projected roster:

Long gone are the days of Marcel Goc being a 1st liner.

There is hope that their luck will change in 2026, as new players will be added to the team lineup, thus perhaps changing their luck for the better.

The team will be stacked with young talent among the projected lineup, with veteran Leon Draisaitl leading the way, while JJ Peterka and Tim Stuzle each will play a pivotal role.

In addition to Lukas Reichel, another notable winger could be a member of the German team in the top 6. In a hopeful bid for a Gold Medal, Mortiz Seider may be the next new face on Team Germany in an attempt to make history.

Finally, the German team has a great goaltender in, Philip Grubauer, who has seen tons of playoff hockey in the NHL and is a possible sleeper for the German team given his experience.

With this team, Team Germany could certainly compete for a gold medal with this squad in 2026.
