The Edmonton Oilers have struggled to make it deep into the post-season, experiencing repeated 2nd round exits in the past two years. Despite being one of the stronger teams in the league, both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have felt the disappointment of not winning a Stanley Cup.

During an interview with the Sans Restriction podcast, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Vincent Desharnais recounted an incident in the locker room after their elimination game.

According to Desharnais, he was amazed at how frustrated McDavid was with the loss.

"The atmosphere in the room was crazy and no one came in. No coaches, nothing. It was just the players and the doors were closed. Connor got up and he spoke... It's the first time I've seen him like this, with so much emotion, so much frustration. And the first thing I thought of when he was talking like that, I swear, woah! Next year, people aren't ready! I swear to you, he's going to break more records! I'm telling you right now, fingers crossed he stays healthy, but I'm telling you, he's going to be NASTY! The coming season, he and Leon [Draisaitl] are going to be nasty!" - Vincent Desharnais

McDavid expressed his emotions from a place of deep frustration and anger, indicating his determination to come back stronger and win the cup.

McDavid finished the season with 64 goals and 89 assists for 153 points, and it's exciting to imagine what records he could break if he returns with even greater intensity.
