The Ottawa Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion said this off-season the rebuilding is over and it was time to compete for a playoff spot. Dorion would acquire Alex DeBrincat in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks and Claude Giroux via free agency.
The Senators had a good year with a 37-35-7 record but it wasn't enough to make the playoffs sitting 6th in the Atlantic Division the Senators were officially eliminated after getting destroyed by the Florida Panthers 7-2 Thursday night.
This will no doubt be a long tough summer for the Senators and their fans but with a few small changes and a legit number one goaltender this Ottawa Senators team could definitely be a playoff team next season.
