The Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland has been working hard to clear up some cap space ahead of the NHL's trade deadline.
One player Holland has been trying to move is Oilers forward Jesse Puljujärvi. The 24 year-old was the Oilers 2016 first round pick but hasn't lived up to his potential in Edmonton and definitely could use a change of scenery.
The Oilers have been trying to make some additions ahead of a hopeful long playoff run but cap issues are in the way. According to the Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the Montreal Canadiens have once again shown some interest in acquiring Puljujärvi.
This would would be awesome to get Puljujärvi's salary off the books to help try to acquire one of the big name's available, the Canucks have also been offering to join as a 3rd party to help retain salary for assets this might be the Oilers best option.
