The Edmonton Oilers are looking to the Stanley Cup playoffs sitting 2nd in the Pacific Division but still have a chance to finish first overall the Vegas Golden Knights.

However despite the playoffs being right around the corner the rumor scene is heating up about some of the pending unrestricted free agency. One player that is believed to be gaining interest is forward Max Pacioretty.

Pacorietty has had a disastrous year injuring himself in the pre-season needing Achilles tendon surgery. Then after returning from that Pacorietty would re-injure himself and is done for the year.

However Pacorietty is likely to be 100% next season and according to Michael DeRosa the Edmonton Oilers are very interested in Pacorietty and were believed to try to acquire him before his injury.

Unfortunately for the Oilers they are not the only team rumored to be interested in Pacorietty as the Montreal Canadiens and Minnesota Wild are both also believed to be interested.

It would be interesting to see Pacioretty return to Montreal as he was traded back in 2018 to Vegas in a package deal that included Nick Suzuki who is now the new captain in Montreal.
