With a potent power-play unit, as well as three high-scoring forwards in Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Leon Draisaitl, and Connor McDavid, the Edmonton Oilers proved to be a dominant team in the NHL in 2022-2023.

The Edmonton Oilers power-play unit set a league record with 32.4%, and except for the 3rd and 4th lines, they will maintain last season's roster. The unit was lethal with Zach Hyman, Evander Kane, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Tyson Barrie, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evan Bouchard, who eventually replaced Barrie.

With Bouchard as the only option for the team, they will still have to look for another quarterback set, while they have their first power-play unit set. A value option for quarterbacking the 2nd power-play unit might be Darnell Nurse or Brett Kulak, who could produce up to that $9 Million AAV deal.

In the event that the team wants more value options at forward for the power play, they could consider bringing in Patrick Kane and Sam Gagner, both affordable options if worse comes to worst.

It will be imperative to find a replacement for Evander Kane if he becomes injured again in order to keep the team's percentage atop the league.
