When you think of Edmonton's hottest forward who comes to mind, Connor McDavid? Leon Draisaitl? well to everyone's surprise as of right now their hottest forward right now is actually Zach Hyman. Hyman is having a great year for the Oilers with 60 points, 26 of them being goals and 34 assists in 49 games played this year.

Last night on January 28th the Oilers took on the Blackhawks in which the Oilers dominated winning 7-3 but Zach Hyman played a big roll contributing on 3 goals scoring one and getting 2 assists. His first point of the game was an assist on Tyson Barrie's second goal of the game which extended his point streak to seven games.

In those seven games Hyman has 16 points, 6 of them being goals, and 10 of them being helpers. Hyman was acquired by the Oilers back in 2021-22 and is currently in his second year with the team. He has already surpassed his previous career high in points which was 54 in his first year with the Oilers getting 27 goals and 27 assists in 76 games.

Hyman will play an important part with the Oilers if they want to make another deep run this year if he can stay healthy.
