It's been a truly inspiring tale for the Czech born in Canada Montreal Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj. The 21 year old has become a fan favorite every where he's played from his time in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kitchener Rangers, to now in Montreal.
The Canadiens scouting staff has to get some huge credit as Xhekaj wasn't drafted infact he was passed up in the draft again signing a free agent deal with the Canadiens.
Life hasn't been easy for Xhekaj who was also passed up in the Ontario Hockey League draft but would get picked up by the Kitchener Rangers. During the pandemic Xhekaj was working at a Costco in Kitchener where he stayed working until the Montreal Canadiens made him a offer.
Xhekaj has already become loved by the Canadiens fanbase for the way he plays and brings that much needed toughness the Canadiens have been lacking for many years.
